Weird fight. Round 1 was all King Mo, he took Rampage down and worked him with ease. But as the fight wore on, Rampage was able to continually work to his feet, and get into a rhythm with some brilliant stuffs and sprawls of King Mo’s takedowns. Every shot by Mo was met by a 1-2 from Rampage, which started busting up Mo’s face Mousasi style. Cut and bleeding, Mo finally got a desperation takedown, but outside of his grappling control, Mo did little to threaten Page.
It’s crazy to see this. Is Rampage that renewed? Is Mo that affected by staph? The guy hasn’t looked the same since 2011 and he was almost killed by the infection. I’m happy we got this main even, but Rampage looked better and better as the fight went on. This was not the best King Mo we’ve seen, and is by far the best Rampage we’ve seen in years.
Damn this grappling control vs. damage argument. Damn it to hell. When the Ref has to tell you to even throw a strike (multiple times), points should possibly be taken away. Just saying.
After the fight ended, the two men hugged for a few minutes, bickered, then reluctantly said, “good fight.” The judges scores read 29-28 x3 – Rampage Jackson.
They got it right.
Even after the judges read their cards, the two men KEPT BICKERING. Rampage says he’s unhappy with his performance, wants to knock out King Mo and starts screaming for a rematch. King Mo’s response is… In a word… Pure pissed. He can’t believe it: “Bjorn, you know I won the fight. If you don’t like me cut me then.”
Rampage continues screaming for a rematch.
