Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson seems to have granted his parting wish in what is expected to be his final UFC bout. “Rampage”, who has been very outspoken about his tenuous relationship with the promotion, took to twitter last night, saying “Glover is done on Jan 26 n (sic) Chicago.”
The two heavy-handed light heavyweights were originally slated to do battle at UFC 153, but an undisclosed injury to the former champion saw him pull out of the bout. Fabio Maldonado then stepped in, but was absolutely assaulted by countryman, losing a second-round doctor’s stoppage.
Teixeira immediately took to the mic after the bout, challenging Quinton, who in turn publicly pleaded with Dana White and Joe Silva to make the fight happen.
Both men will now have it their way as they are once again slated to meet UFC on Fox 6, which will take place January 26 in Chicago, Illinois.
