Miesha Tate doesn’t care if you hate her, opposite Ronda Rousey on TUF 18 is right where she’s supposed to be.

In all of this hullabaloo between the Zingano injury and quick switch in the TUF 18 coaching, I forgot that I thought the stoppage in the Tate/Zingano fight was absolutely too early. Miesha was shooting, albeit slowly, for a takedown on Cat, after winning the two previous rounds, and then everyone’s favorite referee in Kim Winslow stopped the fight awkwardly. Had Miesha gotten the takedown and “coasted” she would’ve won the decision and we would be right back here anyways. This is what she said to MMAJunkie:

“People, hate me if you want to, but the fighter in me says I wasn’t finished, I would have honestly rather the referee let it go and have her knock me out if that’s what was destined to be.”

“I did not expect this by any means after the loss to Cat, but I got it,” she said. “I get to fight Ronda again. Everyone knows that I want that. Everyone knows that we don’t like each other, and I think that makes for more interesting TV. It just feels right.”

She has a point there, it does feel right. This was the show that was meant to be the whole time, we know it, and she knows it too. Even Ronda knows it.

“I’ve always respected Miesha as a fighter and I’ve always respected her as an athlete. How we feel personally really has nothing to do with that. I think she’s entirely legit, but I don’t feel bad about hitting her.”
