Luke Rockhold thinks it will be a long night for Constantinos Philippou

Despite getting knocked out by Vitor Belfort to start his UFC career, we still believe greatly in Luke Rockhold. The guy is an intelligent fighter, and he has all the skills needed in order to go far in the UFC. Now, with Anderson Silva’s dominance out of the way, it sure would be interesting to see Rockhold push himself back into contender status and fight, say, a Chris Weidman, wouldn’t you say?

But first, he needs to get past the tough Constantinos Phillipou. A man he plans on hurting if he has his way:

“If I get on him, it’s going to be hell. I have the killer instinct. I’m not going to be laying on him. I’m going to be looking to fire if I am on him.”

“I believe I’m in the mix. I need a solid win here, put me into a big fight and another win could potentially launch me into that title contention,” Rockhold explained. “I’m confident in my abilities with any of these guys. The middleweight division is deadly right now. There’s so many good guys coming in, [Lyoto] Machida came down, [Gegard] Mousasi’s coming back and Jacare [Souza] is dangerous as hell. I know that. [Tim] Kennedy’s a tough dude, you know, there’s a lot of guys. And I’m just focused on what I’ve got in front of me.”

The middleweight division has suddenly become wide-open, and a lot more interesting.
