About the only time I have literally yelled out “Daaaamn, he’s shredded” during a weigh in was when Nicaraguan boxer Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez weighed in for his fight with Juan Francisco Estrada back in 2010. I have seen hundreds of weigh-ins and that little dude is the only one that has gotten an instant reaction from me. But today another fighter joins that pantheon as Cris Cyborg got a “holy shit she’s ripped,” reaction from me at her Lion Fights weigh in yesterday in Las Vegas.
I have no clue how Cyborg would cut to 135lbs. The girl has to be about 3% body fat and a photo released yesterday shows that her walk around weight is 160lbs. So all this Cyborg-Rousey fight talk is like Mayweather-Pacquiao; We can only dream.
Cyborg faces Jorina Baars tonight on AXS TV for a belt in that organization. Baars hold a 35-0 record so it will be interesting to see how Cyborg fares with a fighter with this type of specific experience in Muay Thai.
