Junior dos Santos hopes he doesn’t get booed again at UFC 160, and neither do we.

How can you boo JDS? Really, how can you? Did the entire arena that booed JDS at UFC 155 in his losing effort against Cain Velasquez realize they were booing:

A. One of the nicest guys in the sport?

B. One of the most hardworking?

Or

C. They were kind of booing for no reason? I can’t recall the last time someone got booed for getting beat up for 25 minutes. What a weird moment that was. I couldn’t believe it then and I still can’t believe it now. Junior dos Santos shares this sentiment. He shared this to MMA Junkie:

“The truth is, I didn’t understand the booing, It did get me down.

“It was a hard loss,” dos Santos said. “It was very tough for me, but I want to be clear. It wasn’t hard because I lost. Losing wasn’t the hard part. Cain was superior. He fought hard and he deserved the win. That was clear to anyone who watched the fight. I felt bad and I had a hard time because I felt like I didn’t perform. You train for months, and then you go in there and I didn’t execute anything that I’d prepared to do. It was very frustrating to feel that I didn’t give what I had.”

“It’s already motivated me to learn new things, change my training, and it’s strengthened me,” dos Santos said. “It’s strengthened me as a person and as a fighter. I think I definitely see things clearer. I appreciate things more. I know what I have to do to get that title back.”

“I don’t think I’ll get booed again, I hope not.”

I am in the belief that fighters should very, very rarely be booed. I’m also of the beleif that a fan paid their money to sit in that seat, but let’s don’t perpetuate stupidity here people. There is no reason to boo a guy who is fighting his heart out.
