Jon Jones feels no need to fight Hendo: “He’s a guy a lot of me would expect to beat anyways.”

JON-JONES-CROUCH

Sit back, relax and let me tell you the story of UFC 151. The story in which a rightful number one contender got injured, and thrown from the spotlight. In August of 2012, before the early September date for 151, Hendo injured his knee and pulled out of his fight with Jon Jones, a fight he waited 9 months for after fighting Shogun Rua in one of the greatest fights of all time.

So what happens? Vitor Belfort gets a title shot, then Chael Sonnen wastes everyone’s time for nearly a year as he gets a title shot in a division he hasn’t won in for half a decade. What did Jon Jones not think he could beat Chael, or that Chael was a tougher fight than Hendo?

Ugh.

So now Jon Jones does an interview with MMAMania, and basically says Hendo isn’t worth his time… At all.

“I have no wishes to fight Dan Henderson, Dan Henderson is a guy who, you know, he’s done a lot for this sport already, he’s a lot older. I think he’s a guy a lot of people would expect me to beat anyways. So I have no big dreams of fighting Dan Henderson.”

“[Henderson’s] last fight with Rashad Evans you could really see him starting to slow down, so fighting him I don’t think really proves much.”

Who is left at 205 that is worth Jones’ time? I mean, Gustaffson gets a title shot off a win a year ago?
