Hector Lombard just put on the most Hector Lombard performance Hector Lombard could ever put on. He was unbelievably dominant early, landing his heavy hands all over Jake Shields’ face, but as usual, Shields recovered, ate the shots then slowed the fight down to the pace he wanted. I think the gameplan was to get into Lombard’s clinch, but the former Bellator champ and owner of an 8-pack on his belly decided UFC 171 would be a good time to use his Olympic level Judo and ****ing threw Jake Shields around the Octagon at will. That domination lasted for abotu 7 minutes, then Lombard slowed down like Lombard does, but Shields still couldn’t do much. Lombard elected to control the top position (by doing nothing but laying on him, no ground and pound whatsoever), and as the fight looked to end, Shields got Lombard into a tight ass guillotine only to have the clock run out. Lombard’s head looked like it may have had room to pop out, but it also looked to be pretty tight in there. Damn.

Lombard wins the unanimous decision, Jake goes to the drawing board.
