I don’t know GSP’s record at predicting matches, but to say with 100% certainty that Chris Weidman is going to defeat Anderson Silva, well, that’s pretty darn interesting right there. Just what is it about Chris Weidman that makes GSP so confident? Will GSP be laying down some cash on the fight? Weidman is a huge underdog after all…
We’ve said it before and it really has probably been analyzed to death at this point, but what is it about Chris Weidman that makes him such an Anderson killer? Is it the wrestling? His submission skills? His huge size? I wish GSP would’ve gotten a little more specific, because him simply stating that he will be taking on Hendricks next because Weidman will beat Silva… That leaves far too much to the imagination. But it was said, Dana White recalled his interaction with the welterweight kingpin to MMAJunkie:
“He wants to fight Johny Hendricks, we had a good conversation,” “He 100 percent, absolutely, positively knows that Weidman is going to beat Anderson Silva. No doubt in his mind that the fight with [Silva] won’t happen because Weidman is going to win. There’s no ‘what if’ for him. He absolutely, positively knows [Weidman] is going to win that fight.”
