Freddie Roach- Georges St-Pierre told me Anderson Silva would lose; he got caught playing

me and freddie talking

I come from the school that shuts up and listens when someone great is talking, so when Freddie Roach talks, naturally I shut up and listen. Freddie has been a staple of the fight scene for more than three decades, and in the last few years, he’s expanded his boxing training to helping the stand up of MMA fighters around the world. GSP, Andrei Arvloski, and recently Shogun Rua all have called Freddie’s Wild Card Gym home for at least a little while, and Freddie has helped them all not punch like girls.

So when Marcos Villegas went to the Wild Card Gym to talk to Freddie Roach, naturally the conversation veered towards the Anderson Silva/Chris Weidman fight and the upset that shocked the MMA world, and Freddie gave his honest opinion, as Freddie always does:

“I didn’t see it live, I saw tape of it and Anderson likes to play around sometimes and he got caught this time.” “It’s funny, because Georges St-Pierre told me Anderson would lose this fight and Weidman is  a lot better than people think. Then people wanted to talk about the superfight between Georges and Anderson Silva, and that ruined that of course.”
