The knee destruction strikes again – Chris Weidman is out of his Memorial Day fight against Lyoto Machida after suffering a slight knee injury which will require surgery. There’s no news on whether this injury is a residual effect from shattering Anderson Silva’s leg last year, but we’re going to assume it is because that makes the story better. Remember the old rule – don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story. Now both original fighters in the main event of UFC 173. Crazy.

But seriously, the fight for the middleweight title is off for now, with the UFC saying it will be pushed to the UFC Expo card which is July 5th in Las Vegas. We’ll see if Weidman makes that date, as of right now I believe nothing until I see it formulated and live right in front of my eyes. Fingers crossed there are no complications.

Damn. Lyoto is probably sipping some pee, saddened.
