Welp, Bas just made one of the best points out of all the talk over Jon Jones and his eye poking; Jon Jones, is a calm, cool and collected fighter. How can someone as cerebral in the cage as Bones constantly foul so much? Well, if you’ve been poked in the eye, then forced to fight if you can’t see, you’d understand better. You get more time to recover if you get hit in the nuts than poked in the eye, and you need your eyes to fight more than your balls.
Well, of course you need big balls to fight, but that’s figurative.
So Jon Jones, with his massive reach advantage, pulls the big brother/little brother hand out to head and face to stop you coming forward. You get poked in the eye once, maybe twice. Are you willing to go the way of Bisping or Alan Belcher just to move in an inch? Risk your career? Probably not. Glover complained multiple times and was poked multiple times, but he moved on, but you can’t expect everyone to do that. And even if you are, there’s something very mental about having that spike in front of your face. It deters you and your offense. So Bones is either dirty or a genius. Probably both.
