One storyline of the last second UFC 177 main event title fight change that was not really talked about was what happened to Joe Soto’s initial opponent, Anthony Birchak.

Soto and Birchak, both champions of other organizations, were set to make their UFC debuts against one another on the UFC 177 preliminary card. As you know by now, Renan Barao was forced to withdraw from his title fight rematch against TJ Dillashaw just an hour before the weigh in, and the UFC opted to give Soto, not Birchak, the opportunity of a lifetime.

While Birchak was paid for showing, he did not get to live his dream and fight in the UFC this past weekend. Not only was it hard enough to hear that he would no longer be fighting, but his initial opponent was getting the title fight that he would of have course taken had he been given the call.

To make matters worse, when Birchak returned home he found it to be ransacked as he was robbed over the weekend.

Thankfully his family is alright. We wish Anthony and his family the best of luck finding their stolen items. If you have any knowledge of the robbery, please contact Anthony or the police.
