What’s this? Yes! Andrei Arlovski is back in the UFC, and with that comes a host of interesting matchups for the former UFC heavyweight champion. I personally want to see him face as many big-name matchups as possible, and while details of his contract aren’t out, I think AA has at least 5 good matchups in the Octagon. Let’s take a look at them:
1. Frank Mir. Let’s do an ex-UFC champ vs. an ex-UFC champ matchup. No reason not to. It’s clear Frank doesn’t want to end his career, so put him in there with someone like AA. Both are past their prime, but both can still put on a show.
2. Big Nog. See above.
3. Brandon Vera. Neither of these men are huge heavyweights and we haven’t seen Vera in a while, so why not have a fun fight here?
4. Werdum. But this only is if Werdum loses to Cain and AA puts together a few wins. AA beat Werdum back at UFC 70, and I personally like rematches, even if they are overdone slightly.
5. Alistair Overeem. I can’t think of any reason not to see this fight. They are both big names, and it would be a hell of a fun striking battle to witness. The perfect headliner to a Fight Night card or as a supplement to a PPV card.
