Anderson Silva thinks superfights are “perfect bull****”

Anderson Silva and Ronaldo

You can’t argue with Silva here. As much as we want to see superfights, you have to admit that it can be a major boon to a guy who is coming up, trying to get to the champion. Basically it means “step aside, hurry up, and wait” if you’re a contender.

The superfights in question are Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, or even Silva and GSP. Anderson understands how his team feels, and he’s come out to remind everyone that superfights are “perfect bullsh**.” See, I never knew bullsh** could be perfect, but at the same time, I guess it’s perfect a lot of the times. What am I even saying? I don’t know.

Here’s Anderson, speaking to GiveMeSport:

“My opinion – the people always say ‘superfight, superfight’ but where are the chances for the new guys to come?

“I’m ready for fight for Jon Jones, Georges St Pierre but in my academy, Minatouro, Glover and the other fighters in this class for Jon Jones. George St Pierre is a different class. I have my problems in my class.”

“Yeah it’s good for business but is no good for the other’s guy fight. I go to fight Georges St Pierre, he cuts up, I cut down. I finish the fight. I go to fight Jon Jones, I finish the fight. Who’s next? No have! My opinion, this is perfect bullshit.”
