Former WEC champion Urijah Faber has seemingly found himself in yet another No. 1 contender fight, as it has been reported that “The California Kid” will be taking on the streaking Raphael Assuncao in the main event of UFC Fight Night 62.
Globo was the first to report the news earlier today, as UFC officials have yet to formally announce the match up.
UFC Fight Night 62 is set to go down on March 21 in Rio de Janeiro, and the card was just bolstered big time with the news of the bantamweight collision.
Faber and Assuncao have battled before, back at WEC 46, in a fight that saw the Team Alpha Male veteran earn a rear-naked choke victory over the Brazilian.
Five years later, the duo will meet inside the Octagon, with the winner likely fighting for the bantamweight title next.
