During the enthralling UFC on FOX 14 event in Sweden, the broadcast noted that the event would be shown in 1 billion homes worldwide.
Just days after the event, it seems UFC on FOX 14 was a smashing success, as MMAFighting has reported the event drew 2.82 million viewers in the overnight rating, the best numbers in two years!
Just how good was the viewership for this event? MMAFighting explains:
The audience was up 24 percent in viewers from the December 13 show headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs. Stipe Miocic, which did 2.27 million viewers in the overnights and an 0.9 in the 18-49 demo. It’s also up from the 2.55 million for last year’s January show headlined by Benson Henderson vs. Josh Thomson.
Considering these are only overnight numbers, the final numbers should be even greater, which is obviously a very good thing for UFC following a tumultuous 2014.
With Anderson Silva set to return this weekend as well, things are looking up for UFC in 2015.
