UFC 178’s Donald Cerrone on potential title shot: “I don’t give a s**t”

UFC 178 features a wealth of exciting battles, but none may be more enticing than the co-main event between dangerous Lightweights, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Eddie Alvarez.

Cerrone welcomes the former Bellator Lightweight champion into the UFC in what many are considering a No. 1 contender fight. Considering Cerrone has won four straight and Alvarez is coming into the fold as a former champion, you would think that both are itching to fight for the belt next.

In earnest, however, Cerrone was dismissive of a title shot at the UFC 178 media day this afternoon. When asked if a potential title shot motivates him, Cerrone said “the title? I don’t give a s**t”. Cerrone went on to point out that what motivates him is the opportunity to fight, and to fight more often.

Regardless of whether or not he actually wants to fight for the title, Cowboy may find himself fighting for the strap next with a win at UFC 178 this Saturday.
