The long awaited return of former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz is just around the corner, as “The Dominator” main events the UFC 178 prelims live on Fox Sports 1 tomorrow.

Cruz has been sidelined with multiple injuries for nearly three years. His last fight, back in 2011, ironically came against Demetrious Johnson, who is now the UFC flyweight champion and headlines UFC 178 against Chris Cariaso tomorrow.

While training for his scheduled fight against Urijah Faber, Cruz tore his ACL, and months later suffered the same injury during rehab. When he was scheduled to return at UFC 169 in February, a groin tear forced him off the card and also forced the UFC to relieve him as champion.

Finally Cruz is 100 percent healthy again, and he has his eyes focused on Takeya Mizugaki tomorrow night. Although Cruz has a tough test ahead of him, many are wondering when in fact Cruz will get a crack at UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw.

According to Cruz himself, he assumes that he will get a title shot with a victory over Mizugaki tomorrow. Watch Cruz’s entire interview from UFC 178 media day below.
