Swedish MMA fans may have a doozy of a Welterweight collision coming this January as rumor has it that Matt “The Immortal” Brown will face off against former StrikeForce Welterweight champion Tarec Saffiedine. Kimura.se first reported the potential matchup, but the UFC has yet to officially comment or announce the bout.
Both men are coming off losses to top 3 Welterweight contenders in Robbie Lawler and Rory MacDonald respectively. If either Saffiedine or Brown hopes to fight for UFC gold in 2015, they will need to kick off the year with a big win in Stockholm.
Swedish MMA hero Alexander Gustafsson will likely main event the card, but a fight has yet to be announced. With former UFC champion Rashad Evans expected to return to the fold in 2015, it is likely those two men will fight in a No. 1 contender bout.
