Matt Brown gives his take on CM Punk: I thought the UFC was beyond that

MMA: UFC on FX-Brown vs Ramos

Another day, and yet another UFC fighter is giving their take on UFC signing former WWE professional wrestler CM Punk.

UFC veteran and welterweight wrecking machine Matt “The Immortal” Brown gave his thoughts on CM Punk during his podcast this week:

I thought the sport, the UFC, itself, was beyond that now. Bellator doing this, I could understand. I could see other organizations doing it. The UFC, I just didn’t expect it.

It’s cool. He’s gonna come in, get his ass whooped and be gone.

Brown also noted that he understood the signing from a business standpoint, and even compared Punk to Conor McGregor’s meteoric rise to stardom.

Do you think Brown has a point, or is the CM Punk signing strictly business for UFC?
