Following his exceptional second round TKO victory over Dennis Siver in the main event of UFC Fight Night 59, Conor McGregor cemented himself as the No. 1 contender in the featherweight division.

“The Notorious” one will now face off against UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo next, but it looks as if McGregor will have to settle for his title shot in Las Vegas, not in Ireland as he hoped.

UFC President Dana White gave some insight as to when the fight would be, and why it will be in Vegas as opposed to Ireland.

From MMAFighting:

“Were looking at Vegas in May. There’s a lot of obstacles for Croke Park. The time, they have a curfew at night where you can’t get permits to stay out that late and do an event there. You lose about 25 to 30 percent on pay-per-view being in another country. The amount of money on the production for Croke Park, and I can guarantee you it’s going to rain. I’m not a meteorologist, but I bet it’s going to rain. I’m not saying we’re never going to do it, but Vegas for this one.”

Who knows, if McGregor is able to defeat Aldo, a potential rematch in Croke Park could be the biggest UFC event in history.

First things first, Aldo vs McGregor on Memorial Day Weekend.
