Former UFC Lightweight champion Ben “Smooth” Henderson is not only an expert mixed martial artist, but he happens to be an exceptional grappler as well.
Henderson is not your average UFC fighter who only rolls or drills jiu-jitsu at practice. Instead, Henderson tests his grappling prowess against the elite of the elite by entering into high profile jiu-jitsu tournaments.
This past weekend, Henderson was spotted at the NoGi Worlds, where he took third place:
Took 3rd at #NoGiWorlds, the match I lost was interesting to be apart of, shoulda brought my track shoes to help me chase’em down ;-D

During one of his matches at the NoGi Worlds, Henderson appeared to have a toothpick in his mouth, reigniting the infamous “toothpick gate”. If you recall, back at UFC on FOX 5, while Henderson was defending his title against Nate Diaz, UFC fans caught a glimpse of the champion stashing a toothpick away in his mouth. Below is a picture of said toothpick from UFC on FOX 5: The toothpick ultimately became the biggest story of the fight card, and is one of the more hilarious moments in UFC history. Flash forward to this past weekend, and check out Henderson competing with the infamous toothpick yet again (Courtesy of R/mma): When confronted with the news that he was caught with the toothpick, Henderson poked fun at the situation:
Shhh, don’t tell the @ufc RT @JohnMunley: The man @BensonHenderson with a toothpick in his mouth while competing at NOGI worlds.

As our moms always said, it’s only fun until somebody gets hurt.
