Former longtime UFC Middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva is set to make his long awaited return to the Octagon this January when he takes on Nick Diaz at UFC 183.

With Silva’s return imminent, many want to know what the former Middleweight kingpin thinks of the current state of the division, and more specifically, the Middleweight title fight between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort.

Weidman defeated Silva twice in 2013 to become the newly minted champ, yet Silva believes that Belfort may in fact be the best fighter at 185 pounds right now (Courtesy of MMAFighting):

In my opinion, Vitor is the most complete fighter at 185 pounds. The most explosive, with the best boxing, good jiu-jitsu and wrestling. Weidman is young,  the new generation, and is coming strong. It’s a fight everybody wants to see. I will root for Vitor to win, obviously.

Weidman and Belfort were scheduled to battle for the belt at UFC 181, but an injury to the champion forced the bout to be postponed to a later date.
