In 2002, a mediocre movie titled “The Scorpion King” was released featuring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson starring in a prequel to “The Mummy” film. Twelve years later, the franchise is somehow still kicking, with it’s fourth iteration set to be released in January.
So how is this related in any way to mixed martial arts? Well, the franchise decided to continue utilizing MMA stars (Randy Couture starred in the second film of the series), hiring Roy Nelson, Royce Gracie, and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva to play key roles in the fourth film.
