One of the recurring trends we see in MMA is the issue of fighter pay. Whether it is a high profile fighter complaining about how much they make, or a manager arguing that fighters deserve more, nearly every other week the topic is brought to the forefront of the MMA community.

Among the high-profile athletes complaining about fighter pay, specifically inside the UFC, is none other than former Light Heavyweight champion and current Bellator MMA contender Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Rampage was reportedly paid around $250k, if not more, for each of his fights inside the Octagon. According to Dana White, Rampage made nearly $15 million during his time in the UFC.

Regardless, the former champion spoke with FightHubTV, noting that he could not have retired on his UFC earnings alone. Rampage essentially stated that the UFC lies about their fighter purses because once you pay off your taxes, your team, your manager, your coaches, and your cornermen, you get paid far less than what is advertised.

Rampage went even further while discussing fighter pay, noting that fighters should make the same amount of money as NBA and NFL players.
