Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman looking to slug his way to bigger bouts

Although WBA interim welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman is set to take on  undefeated European star Leonard Bundu (31-0-2, 11 KOs) on the undercard of the Amir KhanDevon Alexander headlined event, the knockout artist has his sights set on bigger bouts.

Feeling that he was avoided by some big name fighters already, Thurman (23-0, 21 KOs) hopes that the 147-pound elite stop avoiding him, giving him the big bouts he’s in search of.

“I’ve already been ducked by (Marcos) Maidana, I’ve been ducked by the “Ghost” (Robert) Guerrero, and everybody in boxing is subject to being hit with that one shot,” Thurman said. “I’m coming to take you out, I’m coming to take everybody out.”

The biggest fight for any boxer at the moment is against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Thruman’s name has been thrown around as a possible opponent before Money’s last few bouts.

If Mayweather opts to face Thurman at some point in the future he said that Mayweather is aging and the fight will be his for the taking.

“Everybody is in the running for a possible Mayweather fight,” Thurman explained. “I got mad respect for the man. I just think he’s getting old.”

Watch Thurman-Bundu, Khan-Alexander and the rest of the stacked fight card, Saturday, Dec. 13, live on Showtime beginning at 9 p.m. EDT/6 p.m. PDT.
