Gennady Golovkin vs. Martin Murray: GGG talks bout with Murray and possible fights w/ Miguel Cotto, Carl Froch and Chavez Jr.

Gennady Golovkin is riding a 17-fight win streak via knockout, but he is ready to go a full 12 rounds, if Martin Murray can be the first to push “GGG” an entire bout Saturday night in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Golovkin, a multi-belt middleweight champ, said he has trained to go a full fight with Murray, but if a brawl presents itself, the bout will end early, as usual in a “GGG” fight.

Despite being a visibly happy guy outside of the ring, once Golovkin gets in the ring he puts on his game face and gets down to business. Nothing more than boxing being his job motivates him to ditch the nice guy act for the blood thirst animal we’ve all grown accustom to seeing.

“I love boxing, I love boxing, it’s my life” Golovkin said.

If Golovkin is victorious Saturday night as most think he will be, big fights are on the horizon, ones with unifaction hopes for GGG.

One possible bout would be against WBC middleweight champ Miguel Cotto, whom Golvkin is the mandatory opponent for. With no one named as his next foe, Cotto would face Golovkin in the spring or summer if the Puerto Rican star is up to the challenge.

Also on the radar are Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. whom Golovkin would welcome as possible bouts, but unifying titles in the 160-pound division is his goal, so a Cotto bout stands out out of the trio bouts.
