Dan Hardy talks hallucinogens, Peru, and not being done with martial arts

I have an opinion that a higher level of consciousness can be achieved through discomfort or suffering” – Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy

How true this opinion is when you look back at people who have built themselves from nothing to become the icons they are today. Bruce Wayne went from being a spoiled child, turned orphan almost overnight, stole from himself, trained as a ninja and used his own hallucinogens to turn into not only the world’s greatest detective/billionaire playboy but also the most amazing crime fighter… ever.

Tony Stark took a piece of shrapnel in his chest and being held captive in a cave, to harness energy only fantasized about and built a massive army of robots, all the while being a wise cracking ladies’ man and hanging out with the super friends in the process.

UFC welterweight and fan favorite, Dan Hardy, has taken his Wolff Heart syndrome and trips to Peru for DMT trips with Shaman’s as a way to explore the next step of what he considers human evolution.

I’m an extreme person…whether it’s from going into the ice bath and then into hot yoga; it’s all extreme and that’s where you grow.”

Looking at possible retirement depending on his medical condition and safety in competition, Hardy tells Fight Hub TV’s Marcos Villegas that he is not done with martial arts at all.

I’m definitely not done with martial arts, not by any stretch of the imagination, I have a long journey to do through the martial arts and possibly through different forms of competition.”

Whether he walks away from fighting or is around MMA in a different aspect, one thing is certain, Hardy has taken adversity and suffering, used them to his advantage and achieved the goals he set for himself in the beginning to get where he is today.
