Conor McGregor has taken the MMA world by storm over the last year, and he looks like a budding superstar for the UFC. The trash-talking Irishman has talked a big game ever since joining the UFC, and has backed up every word of it thus far.

McGregor predicted a first round knockout over Dustin Poirier this past weekend at UFC 178, and he did just that, obliterating the No. 5 ranked Featherweight with ease.

After the victory, many were wondering whether or not McGregor’s stellar performance would leapfrog him over other proven contenders en route to a UFC title shot. Considering the UFC is sending McGregor to UFC 179 to watch the Featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes, it seems very likely he is next in line.

In fact, the Irishman is so sure he is getting the title shot next, he stole the belt from backstage on Saturday night so that he could get accustomed to the gold he believes will be his in just a few short months.

McGregor even had the audacity to bring the belt with him to the UFC 178 post-fight show, where he sat next to a true former champion in Rashad Evans, who seemed a bit uncomfortable with McGregor’s antics. Watch the entire scene play out in the video below.
