UFC 180: Leslie Smith nearly loses ear as Jessica Eye gets TKO victory (Picture)

UFC 180 is underway in Mexico City, and the preliminary card is off to a hot start with several exciting fights and finishes.

In the Women’s Bantamweight bout between Jessica Eye and Leslie Smith, fight fans got a little more than they bargained for with one of the nastiest injuries you will ever see in MMA.

After Eye opened up a nasty gash on Smith’s left ear in the first round, the No. 6 ranked Bantamweight nearly severed her opponents ear with several more combinations in the second round. Herb Dean ultimately called the doctor in to check the severity of the cut, and that’s when it was revealed that Smith’s ear was literally hanging off the side of her head.
