May Day is almost here and while the world is focusing on Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Robert Guerrero in what can turn out to be a very interesting fight, die hard fight fans know that the co-feature that pits Abner Mares vs. Daniel Ponce De Leon could be the most memorable fight of the night.
Mares and De leon are action fighters, both world champions and have that Mexican bravado that makes for entertaining toe to toe battles. Mares is moving up a division in a bid to capture a third world title, while Ponce De Leon is looking to make the first defense of the featherweight title he won last September.
We had a chance to visit Ponce De Leon at his gym and caught a few snap shots as he prepares for this title defense. Check them out!
