Longtime MMA fans will remember the glory days of the PRIDE Fighting Championship that saw Heavyweight behemoth Mirko Cro Cop knock out dozens of opponents with his patented, and quite devastating, high kick.

When Cro Cop transitioned over to UFC, his famed high kicks were a rarity. Since leaving UFC in 2011, Cro Cop has stayed busy competing in kickboxing and MMA promotions around the globe. While his glory days are certainly behind him, Cro Cop’s name alone always drives a horde of fans to see him fight.

Cro Cop returned to the limelight this afternoon, as he fought Satoshi Ishii at Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye 2014 in their New Year’s Eve event in Japan. The Croatian legend was able to turn back the clock today, as he knocked out Ishii with a brutal head kick and some follow-up punches.

Still as beautiful as it was so many years ago.
