Lyoto Machida has a long history of decimating wrestlers, from Tito Ortiz, to Rashad Evans to Ryan Bader and even Dan Henderson, although he rarely uses his wrestling anymore. Maybe Lyoto has the wrestlers figured out to a degree most don’t, but then again, Phil Davis is reaching another level in his martial arts training.

This is probably UFC 163’s most important fight, considering no one is really giving the Korean Zombie any chances against Jose Aldo. So let’s see what Lyoto has to say about Phil Davis:

“He’s a tough opponent, he’s a nice guy too, but we are professional(s). He’s improved a lot in his stand up, his technique, but his main technique is wrestling but I’ve trained and fought a lot of wresters so I can have a great fight with him. He’s a top ten fighter.”
