The action that Showtime brought tonight at The Staples Center did not disappoint. In what is the biggest upset on the year so far, Riverside’s Josesito Lopez defeated Victor Ortiz as round nine came to a close. Oritz’s corner forced the stoppage as the fighter’s jaw was broken in round number five. Through out the fight both fighters threw heavy leather as Lopez gritted his teeth and hung in there after being stunned multiple times.
Our man Marcos Villegas caught up with Lopez as he talks the biggest victory of his career, how it feels to be a champion and Lopez’s plan coming into the fight.
