On November 24th, Golden Boy Boxing will put on another interesting and exciting match up as former welterweight champion Andre Berto, who has been out of the ring for over a year goes head to head with interim WBC welterweight champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero. Certainly this was a match up that appeared out of thin air, as Guerrero was in the running to face Timothy Bradley.
With Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer revealing to us that Top Rank denied the matchup by claiming Team Guerrero had priced themselves out (which both Schaefer and Guerrero deny) the stars were now aligned for both Berto and Guerrero to face off. Both fighters are looking for that break thru performance as both fighters have experienced setbacks and frustrations this past year.
