Edson Barboza destroyed the legs of Rafaello Oliveira in a history-making win.

I’m in shock. Not very many people have finished a fight via leg kicks in MMA, let alone the UFC, I believe Joe Rogan said it was five fights in UFC history that have been stopped via leg kicks, and one of those men who stopped a fight via leg kicks was Edson Barboza. Tonight, at UFC 162, he did it for a second time.

I’m not overplaying this, the rest of the media is underplaying this. It’s really, really hard to finish a man via leg kicks, and Edson has done it against world-class opponents twice now. We knew he was going to continue his reign of terror in the UFC lightweight division, only one fight removed from his stunning knockout loss at the hands of Jamie Varner, and ready to start his streak anew. And we also knew Rafaello Oliveira who is 1-2 in his latest UFC run, has been finished by Yves Edwards and Gleison Tibau in 2011 but won his last fight against Yoislandy Izquierdo at UFC 148.

Barboza, if you don’t already know, is a killer and now he’s right back in the UFC lightweight title hunt if you ask me. The guy is absolutely dangerous everywhere, and now he will forever be linked to leg kicks. EA UFC better have his leg kick power to 100%. I want Jose Aldo to fight this man.

My god. Watch this finish. Gif complements of ZProphet.
