No bashing, no snide remarks, just a simple observation full of respect to Josh Burkman and cutting down Mazzagatti. Ok, so it wasn’t a completely vitriol-free tweet, Mazzagatti took one on the chin, but what matters here is the fact that Dana was giving respect to the fighters, that’s something I’m happy about. And let’s be honest here, Mazzagatti was just standing there as Fitch went unconscious, he was barely even looking at the hold. Man. What if Steve Mazzagatti and Kim Winslow had a baby? The sport would never be the same.
Props to Dana for giving props to Josh Burkman. I wonder if this will being Josh a step closer to coming back to the UFC? The dude has been a monster lately, and has won 8 of his last 9 fights since being ousted from the UFC. His lone loss was to Jordan Mein, who is now calling the Octagon home, so it will be interesting to see Burkman’s career trajectory from here.
