The Irish superstar may be fighting for UFC gold sooner than you think.

Conor McGregor, who is 4-0 inside the Octagon, will earn a UFC title shot if he defeats Dennis Siver in the main event of UFC Fight Night 59 on January 18th.

That is according to UFC president Dana White, who broke the news during a UFC 182 scrum yesterday:

“This fight in Boston, if he wins this fight, he’s going to fight for the title,” White told reporters Thursday at the MGM Grand.

Once the news broke, it did not take long for McGregor to fire a shot at UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo.

Aldo would not back down, however, rebutting McGregor just moments later:

“I’m the greatest” “Eu sou o maior ” #eusouorei #eleéobobo #vamostodosjuntos
