You know you have a huge fight on your hands when a guy like Hollywood actor Danny Trejo is able to talk the shop about both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. To boxing fans the Sept 14th match up between the two undefeated champions is the super fight of the year and Trejo is just as excited as the most hardcore boxing fan.

The star of Machete and Machete Kills (which drops on September 13th) speaks with Marcos Villegas about his feelings on Floyd Mayweather as it relates to his skills in the ring, “One of the greatest fighters right now is Mayweather. He is just unbelievable. That guy is faster than a hummingbird.”

So you are probably thinking, “what does he think about the fight!!” Well do not worry fight fans, we got that right here but you might be a little surprised as Trejo feels the fight may have been premature for Alvarez, ” I love Canelo but you know what..god I wish he got a little bit more experience before he tackled Floyd because one of the things that makes Floyd such a great fighter is that he can adapt to any style.”

Trejo nails it right on the head as many still feel that Alvarez is far to inexperienced to beat a guy the caliber of skill like Mayweather. Even though the young Mexican has almost the same number of fights as Money May, Austin Trout is the sole beaten opponent who could be classified as elite. Trejo though does see a chink in the armor of Mayweather. One in which many observers pointed out in his outing with Miguel Cotto in which it seems Mayweather is getting hit more than he use to.

At 36, time is winding down for Mayweather. Given his in-ring IQ there is no doubt that even a sightly diminished Mayweather still has the goods and the skills to beat a majority of fighters in the boxing landscape. Problem is Mayweather looked reinvigorated in his loopsided victory over Robert Guerrero and if he gives a repeat of that performance on Sept 14th, expect Mayweather to be 45-0.
