Shane Mosley Pulls Out of Anthony Mundine Clash but still makes $300,000

shane mosley vs. anthony mudine
This is the face of a person who gets $300,000 for doing absolutely nothing.

With concerns being raised to whether or not former three-division champ Shane Mosley should continue to fight or not, it turns out those concerned with Mosley fighting on have no need to worry tomorrow, as Mosley has pulled out of his bout with Anthony Mundine according to ESPN.

Citing breach of contract, Mosley was upset that a $300,000 advanced payment of  the $1 million he was to be paid for the bout was tardy being put into escrow by Millennium Events promoter Vlad Warton. Mosley will keep the $300,000 despite not even making it to the bout, as it was non-refundable according to Golden Boy Promotions.

Mosley was already in Australia for the bout, but promptly headed back to the U.S. once the issues over money occurred. He was upset about the a happenings and was hoping to show his doubters that he still had some fight left in him against Mundine.

Mosley told ESPN.com:

I’m very disappointed with this turn of events because I was planning on making a big statement by beating Mundine, but I was left with no choice but to withdraw. The fans in Australia have welcomed me with open arms, and I hope to return to fight for them one day in better circumstances.

Even though there wasn’t much hype surrounding the bout, many in the boxing community were interested to see how Mosley would look in the bout—which wold have been his second bout this year after coming out of retirement that lasted almost one year.

No one will lose sleep over  the Mosley-Mundine bout not happening, but some may lose some Z’s over Mosley making $300,000 for essentially taking a brief trip to Australia and nothing more.
