Roger Mayweather “The greatest fighters come from where I come from, period!”

Roger Mayweather is a man boxing fans know as speaking his mind. To his now famous catchphrase of “you dont know shit about boxing,” and other unfiltered comments a interview with Roger Mayweather is an unpredictable and entertaining affair. So it came to as a surprise to us that in this clip with the original “Black Mamba” he came off as quiet reserve and calm. Must of been something in the water, but Mayweather and Marcos Villegas have a chat about what makes the midwest region of the United States so special when it comes to producing great fighters.

Mayweather contends it is how youngsters are taught boxing and how they have to fight growing up. He contends that just because your a certain nationality it does not necessarily makes you a great fighter and it is more about how you grew up fighting and the style you were taught that makes the most impact in a fighters life. Mayweather runs a gambit of who’s who of the greatest fighters in his opinion from Michigan whom he considers his nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr. to be among them.

Speaking of Floyd, he is set to be released on the 4th of August so we can only hope a fight is announced shortly for him to participate in the fall. Unless of course spending time in jail somehow took the will to fight away from Floyd and by some mystery of god he decides to quit boxing and become a full time minister. Yea, we know we are rambling but hey, George Foreman became a minister…we are just saying….it can happen.
