After his dominating win over Gavin Rees a few weeks back, current lightweight champion Adrien Broner called a slew of the top lightweights and welterweights in the world. The young undefeated fighter is hoping to clash with Ricky Burns though one Brandon Rios has been constantly brought up as a dream opponent thru the eyes of many boxing fans. “I’ve said it. If Brandon Rios wants to fight me, we can fight. I don’t pick my fights, I fight whoever they put in front of me,” Broner was quoted saying after his most recent win.

Though a match up between Rios and Broner seems improbable given the current boxing landscape, Rios has been listening to recent comments made by Broner in regards to him and is not the biggest fan of the lightweight champion, ” He is one of those types of guys that is stupid…cocky. He thinks he is the next Mayweather..he ain’t shit man. He is saying if he were to fight me, I would never touch him. If Gavin Rees landed all those shots on you, imagine if you let me hit you? I am going to hurt you.”

You can already see the makings of a pre-fight build up that would rival anything MMA star Chael Sonnen spews in regards to hyping his fights. Though it is not probable that these two will ever fight, rest assured they want to get it on with each other, but for both men to do that they have to win their next fights coming up. Rios will be facing Mike Alvarado in a rematch of their 2012 fight of the year battle that ended in Alvarado being stopped in the 7th round. Fans are hoping that part duex will live up to expectations as historically speaking, rematches go very different than their original counterparts.

We had a chance to speak to Rios on this rematch in which we will bring to you in here on Fight Hub in the next day or two. But for now, see what Rios has to say about Broner’s style and much more!
