Paulie Malignaggi “At 23 Mayweather beat Corrales, Broner beat Rees”

When it comes down to it, Paulie Malignaggi is a real boxing guy. You can tell he has that inner fan in him when it comes to his profession. Taking aside that he is a world champion and has fought some of the top guys in the sport, Paulie knows his shit. For some weird reason I feel that if Paulie Malignaggi the man would of never became a professional boxer but rather a plumber and lived out a normal life fixing toilets, seducing stay at home moms and eating hoagies at New York Deli’s, he would be a very passionate boxing fan.

This passion shows through in Malignaggi’s current side gig over at Showtime sharing on air responsibilities with Al Bernstein, Brian Kenny and Mauro Rannalo. They say what makes a good host is saying the things we as people feel and think. If that is the case, Paulie has proven to be a pretty damn good one so far, as he has voiced the same questions we have asked about his next opponent, Adrien Broner.

In this video interview, Malignaggi brings up a very heated subject being debuted on online forums; Who has Adrien Broner fought that was any good? To Malignaggi, these past opponents were all hand picked to make Broner look good, thanks to the workings of the very powerful boxing manager Al Haymon. ” If your with Al Haymon, you do not have to fight anyone with a pulse! He has shown talent, but I want to see if there is character behind the talent. Only a skilled good fighter will bring out the fact that you do or you do not have character. Once you are on a high level it takes more than skill and talent, it takes character.”

So boxing heads, does Paulie Malignaggi have the skills and the will to bring out the best of Broner on June 22nd? Or will Broner make it look like easy work come fight night? Either way, I think us as fans have already won with the amount of trash talk between both fighters. As the fight draws near we only know that the trash talk will get better though we hope the hype lives up to the real deal on June 22nd.
