If that boxing thing doesn’t work out for Manny Pacquiao he now has a fall back plan in place with the Philippine Basketball Association.

The 35-year-old seven-division champion not only became the head coach of the Kia Motors’ PBA team in June, he is now a player, as his own team drafted him 11th in the first round of the 2014 PBA draft (h/t Los Angeles Times).

So if you’re taking notes on the busy Pacquiao, he is a world-class boxer, a congressman, business man and now a professional basketball player.

As if one Pacquiao wasn’t enough on the team, the Kia Motors team also went out and drafted Rene Pacquiao, Manny’s cousin, to the team. Cousin Pacquiao played ball in college and spent time in the PBA D-League as well.

Despite being a first-round selection, sadly the photo-op of Pacman holding up the jersey of the team he also coaches didn’t happen, as Pacquiao is on the promotional trail hyping up his Nov. 23 welterweight title fight against Chris Algieri.

It will be interesting to see how much game Pacquiao has, but he has been an avid player for years and is in great shape, so one could guess he has a few moves on the court.

Now, if it were only this easy to set fights up in boxing, it’s a sure thing that a Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout would have been selected years ago.
