Zab Judah credits Danny Garcia as a great champion, says beef with Angel Garcia over with

marcos villegas and zab judah

So whats been going on with Zab Judah since his last performance against Danny Garcia at The Barclays Center? Well the former unified welterweight champion has been back home in Las Vegas, where Marcos Villegas was able to get a hold of him and have a nice little chit chat about his Garcia bout in which Judah surged in the last four rounds to make what was turning into a blow out into a competitive end to a very good fight.

Judah touched on what many fans have asked, that being why he was so inactive in the first half of his fight? It is the shared opinion of many that if Judah fought the way he fought in the last four rounds of his bout with Garcia since the start, he could once again be unified champion. Judah had this to say about that, “Number one, I want to say thanks to my fans who have supported me. You know what, it is kind of a gift and a curse. They say sometimes I only have four rounds in me and now I only got the last four (laughter) but if that is the question, we almost did it, so tune in to the next one, you will get 100%.”

It was no secret that during the build up to the fight, the father of Danny Garcia, Angel Garcia got into it with Judah at a pre-fight press conference. That altercation added a extra element of intrigue to the match which was only heightened during fight week when Judah crashed a Garcia autograph signing. Add in a press conference in which both camps had to be separated which led Judah to throw outbursts at Oscar De La Hoya as well as extra security for the weigh in and we had ourselves some WWE style drama come fight night. All of this courtesy of the first initial outbursts from Angel Garcia.

So is there still beef between Angel and Zab? According to Judah, he is past it, “I tip my hat off to him. He is a father and he believes in his son. He wants to see his son do well and he is willing to go to whatever hurdle he has to go through to make his son comfortable inside that ring. He went to high extremes, kinda dangerous but you know he did his thing. It is all love though”

It is good to see Zab not hold any grudges as he has made many changes for the better in the past few years, and he gives respect where respect is due as he made a point to tell us, that he feels Danny Garcia is a great champion.
