Victor Ortiz vs. Josesito Lopez will be a fight many expect to produce exchanges and action in the ring this June 23rd, but the semi-main event featuring Humberto Soto and Lucas Matthysse has the potential to produce Rock’em Sock’em Robot type action and it has us grinning!
The over 60 fight veteran in Soto has been in many entertaining bouts include his fight of the year with Urbano Antillon. With Soto you can always expect a guy who comes to fight and will leave it all in the ring. The tough Argentinian Matthysse can technically be seen as undefeated as two controversial losses to Zab Judah and Devon Alexander have tainted his on paper record. Fans though do not have a tainted memory when he fights in the ring, as he can brawl with the best of showcase his ever improving boxing skills.
Marcos Villegas had a chance to speak with Soto yesterday in Los Angeles, as he assures us that he will figure out Matthysse and he has prepared for this bout as if it were his debut.
