Ricky Hatton in his day was probably one of the most beloved fighters in boxing history and still continues to be so in his native England. The former unified light welterweight champion of the world made a failed comeback a few months ago against tough Ukrainian Viacheslav Senchenko in a fight he was winning. He would be dropped by a textbook liver shot and dreams of a final world title run died at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England. Since then, Hatton has taken the loss in stride, expecting a new baby to add to his growing family.

The former champion was recently in Las Vegas, as he drew parallels between his brutal knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao, and Juan Manuel Marquez’s brutal knockout of Manny Pacquiao. Hatton in his opinion stated that he one hundred percent feels that Manny Pacquiao should retire. He makes the argument that Pacquiao has achieved everything you can as a fighter and that the Filipino fighter really has nothing more to prove to himself nor the boxing public anymore.

Hatton also touches on what that type of knockout can do to a family, as he states how much his knockout loss affected his wife and how he got a sense of deja vu having to see Pacquiao’s wife go thru the same thing he ultimately experienced four years ago.
