Robert Guerrero “That is Amir Khan being a scum bag!” Talks Khan comments on Freddie Roach

by Mick Akers

As Robert Guerrero trains for his November 24 battle with Andre Berto at the Citizens Business Bank Arena on Ontario, CA he took the time to share his views on two fighters who could very well be future opponents of his in Danny Garcia and Amir Khan.

Giving props to Garcia for his string of recent victories including his two fourth-round knockouts of Khan and Erik Morales, he had nothing but good things to say about the junior welterweight title holder.

When the attention shifted to Khan and his recent controversial words about his former trainer Freddie Roach, and the possibility that Roach’s parkinsons disease could have affected his training leading up to the Garcia loss, Guerrero’s mood changed.

Guerrero calling Khan a “scumbag” may be a little harsh, but looking at Roach’s history as a trainer, Roach’s parkinsons seems to have not played any role in his training whatsoever.

If Guerrero is successful against Berto later this month and Garcia wants to make the jump to the welterweight division, a bout with the two could be one of the better fights in 2013.

Even if Guerrero is unsuccessful against Berto, a Khan showdown could be his ticket to land a fight with Garcia. An elimination fight could be set up, as Guerrero seems like he wants to give Khan a KO of his own and one would think that Khan would like another crack at Garcia and would easily take a Guerrero bout to get that chance.

Khan would have to take care of business against Carlos Molina in December first, but for scenarios sake, let’s assume he gets back on the winning side of things against Molina.

Although a lot has to happen for either of these scenarios to go down, there is a strong possibility that one of them will take place somewhere down the line.

Who knows, with everyone wanting a piece of Floyd Mayweather including Guerrero and Khan–who have both publicly expressed their desire to fight Mayweather–this possible strange three-way squabble could lead the victor to the bout of their career.
