With the bout between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez finally announced on September 15th and the press tour set to kick off tomorrow in Los Angeles, we thought we would start the hype train a bit early. Last week we caught up with hall of fame trainer Freddie Roach as we asked him about the Chavez Jr/Martinez bout. Roach shared the same thought many people are thinking, that Chavez Jr. may be to big for the smaller Sergio Martinez. “Chavez Jr. will walk thru Sergio’s punches..hes too big.” Though on the other side of the spectrum, you can easily say that Martinez will be too good and too fast for the slow Chavez Jr. Roach talks with Marcos Villegas in depth about the match up as he also touches on Jr’s weight, his weight cut and more.
